The Maple Grove Arts Council Jazz Ensemble has been entertaining audiences for the past four years, playing to sold out audiences in Maple Grove at the Town Green Amphitheater and Yellow Tree Theater.  In addition, this year they will be playing to audiences throughout the Twin Cities.

The Jazz Ensemble is directed by Paul Mazzacano who has had life-long success as a creative, multi-talented percussionist, composer, arranger, vocalist, conductor and TV host.  A partial list of credits include national radio, television, and Hollywood movies, Broadway musicals and as drummer with Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn Miller/Tex Beneke and Henry Mancini Orchestras.  Mr. Mazzacano has received many awards including Teacher of the Year.  Also, awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, U.S. State Department and the National Association of Schools of Music.  Director of the Jazz Ensemble, Paul Mazzacano writes original arrangements to showcase the many talented musicians in the Jazz Ensemble.

Under Mr. Mazzacano's direction, the Jazz Ensemble has grown to 18 musicians and includes artistry on the bass, trumpet, piano, percussion instruments, among others.  The group recently added a soloist and a resident guitar player playing tunes that are sure to keep feet tapping at each of their concerts.
